INTRODUCTION
Feature Summary: CourtReserve gives organizations the ability to assign a default membership to new members upon account creation. If membership selection is hidden, this predefined membership is automatically applied when a new member registers, without requiring them to select one.
Use Cases:
Set a default membership for clubs that offer only one membership type
Optionally remove the membership field from the sign-up form to reduce registration steps
Automatically enroll new members under a specific membership without manual selection
SETUP REQUIREMENTS
Log in to the admin panel.
In the side menu, click Memberships. A new page displays.
Click the Individual or Family tab.
Select a membership type.
Click the General tab.
SETTINGS
Make This Membership Default For Member - Check this box to designate the selected membership type as the default for new members. When enabled, new members are automatically enrolled under this membership upon registration if the membership field is hidden in sign-up form.
Note: The membership field is only hidden from the sign-up form if the Membership Visibility on Sign-Up field is set to Hidden in Portal Settings > Sign-Up Form. If that field is set to Required or Optional, the membership field will still appear during registration.

How the Default Membership Works with Sign-Up Form Visibility
The behavior of the default membership varies depending on how Membership Visibility on Sign-Up is configured in Portal Settings > Sign-Up Form.
Hidden
The membership field is not displayed on the sign-up form.
All new members are automatically assigned the default membership upon registration.
Required
If your club has multiple membership types, members choose from all available options. The default membership does not influence their selection or change the displayed options on the member portal.
Optional
Members are presented with available membership options but are not required to select one. They can choose to skip the membership selection during registration. If, however, a default membership is configured, it is automatically pre-selected before creating their account.
