INTRODUCTION
Feature Summary: Use Membership Prerequisites to restrict eligibility for certain memberships exclusively to members who have previously purchased specific memberships.
Use Cases: For organizations introducing a "Renewing Members" membership category at a discounted rate, establishing previously purchased memberships as prerequisites ensures that this membership type is exclusively accessible to members with a previous membership history. This approach effectively tailors offerings to engage and reward returning members.
SETUP REQUIREMENTS
Log in to the admin dashboard.
Go to the side menu and click MEMBERSHIPS. A new page displays.
Click the Individual or Family tab.
Select a membership type.
Click the Portal Settings tab.
Click the Membership Prerequisite(s) field and select one or more prerequisite membership types. Use this optional field to limit access to this membership type. For instance, the 2024 full-member rate might be available only to renewing members. In this case, the system users should create a separate membership type for first-time club members.
If an organization is using Membership Prerequisites for select memberships, and has any memberships WITHOUT prerequisites, system users will need to check Bypass Prerequisites for any memberships with no prerequisites. If Bypass Prerequisites is not checked, this membership will not be public on the Member Portal.
