Names and Categories
Name the Event (Mandatory)
Name your Event by clicking Events > Create Event. Type In the Name of the Event in the Name field.
The Name of the Event is what members will see under the Event List and on the Calendar on the Member Portal.
Example of Event Name listed on the Member Portal:
The Event Names will populate under the Events > List as well as an individual Event ID number (generated by the system) for each Event.
Event Sessions (Optional)
Event Sessions can help a club determine how well a group of Events, Classes or Clinics performed over a year, as well as help members filter for the session they are interested in.
An example of a set of Sessions could be:
Summer I - 2022
Summer II - 2022
Fall I - 2022
Fall II - 2022
Or
Summer Session
Indoor Session
To Create a Session go to Settings > Event Settings > Event Sessions and click the green button, "+Create Event Session."
When creating a session choose whether or not you would like to show the session on the member portal. Check "Is Active" to have the session active in your system.
Event Categories (Mandatory)
Event Categories are used to categorize the different types of Event, Classes and Clinics that you hold within your club or organization. Well named Event Categories are helpful to both your admins (for reporting purposes) and players (they will select the event category they are interested in when registering via the mobile app).
Examples would include:
Adult Clinic
Junior Clinic
Socials
Round Robin
To Setup Event Categories, go to Settings > Event Settings > Event Categories. Click the green button, "+Create Event Category" and give it a Name, Choose the color, choose "Is Active," choose "Is Public" and you have the option to apply a Revenue Category and Tax Rate, then click save.
When deciding on event categories, it is generally better to more specific rather than less specific, to have more categories rather than fewer. Most organizations who regularly use Events have between 5 - 16 Event Categories, though some have 20+ categories for all of their programming.
