INTRODUCTION

Feature Summary: Configure options on the Portal Settings tab of a membership type.

Use Cases: Configure important membership type settings like granting visibility on the member portal, allowing members to cancel a membership, and requiring payment.

PREREQUISITES

Create a membership type.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Go to the side menu and click MEMBERSHIPS. A new page displays.

  3. Click the Individual or Family tab.

  4. Select a membership type.

  5. Click the Portal Settings tab.

Fill in the Fields

  • Is Public - Check the box to make this membership type option visible on the member portal.

  • Require Payment When Booking Courts Online - If this box is checked, players with this membership type must complete the booking payment by a specified time (as set in the next field).

  • Hold Time For Reservation (Minimum 15 minutes) - If payment is required, enter a time (minutes) to set the length of the hold period.

  • Don't Allow Members To Change Membership - If checked, this setting prevents members from switching to a different membership type (e.g., from a Free membership to Premium membership or vice versa).

    • Use Case for Not Checking "Don't Allow Members To Change Membership": You want to offer flexibility and self-service options for members to upgrade or downgrade as needed (e.g., from Monthly to Annual, or Free to Premium).

    • Use Case for Checking "Don't Allow Members To Change Membership": Your club offers multiple membership tiers (e.g., Free, Basic, Premium), and you want membership changes to be reviewed or approved by an admin rather than letting members switch themselves.

  • Membership Prerequisite(s) - Click the field and select one or more prerequisite membership types. Use this optional field to limit access to this membership type. For instance, the 2024 full-member rate might be available only to renewing members. In this case, the system users should create a separate membership type for first-time club members.

  • Additional Features - Use this tool to promote features that are part of the membership type. This tool adds a line to the member portal (see below) but does not enable any features.

USER PERSPECTIVE

The screenshot below shows the features that come with a membership type (e.g. Full Member). The list includes additional features (i.e. 1 Free Guest per Week).
