Admin Panel:
The admin or backend side of CourtReserve—used by system users to set up, configure, and manage everything from reservations to billing and events.
Events:
Structured activities such as clinics, camps, or socials where system users define the courts, times, and instructors. Events allow members to register for specific time slots set by the organization, rather than selecting their own date, time, or court as they would with a standard reservation. For example, the system user creates a Pickleball Open Play every week on Monday from 5-8pm on Courts 1, 2, and 3 with a max registration of 15.
Kiosks:
A kiosk is a self-service, browser-based terminal that allows players to perform specific tasks without staff assistance. In CourtReserve, kiosks can be used for Reservations or Self Check-In, or both, depending on your club’s needs. Kiosks can be accessed on tablets, desktop computers, or other web-enabled devices using a unique URL. If your club uses a barcode scanner, players can quickly check in by scanning the barcode in their CourtReserve mobile app. Otherwise, they can enter their player number directly into the kiosk. You can also create a Guest Waiver kiosk using the Electronic Waivers & Membership Agreements add-on in CourtReserve.
Lessons or Book a Pro:
Typically created by system users on the admin side, lessons involve an instructor working with one or more players to help improve their game. If you’d like players to book their own lessons, enable the Book a Pro feature to allow self-scheduling through the Member Portal or mobile app.
Players (i.e. Members):
Players (or Members) are individuals who hold an account within your CourtReserve system. You can think of Members and Players as the same, depending on how your organization operates. These individuals can log in, book courts, register for events, and access other features based on their membership level and the settings configured by your club.
All account holders in the CourtReserve system must have a membership to book courts, utilize club services, and participate in events. Membership levels can range from free, guest-level accounts to premium, paid options, depending on the Club’s offerings.
Member Portal:
The frontend view of CourtReserve that members access to book courts, sign up for events, and manage their account info. The Member Portal is the web-based version of CourtReserve that members typically access through a browser on their computer or tablet. CourtReserve admins can customize many features on the Member Portal.
Memberships:
Memberships define the structure of what benefits, access, and privileges a member receives within your organization. They determine which courts, events, or resources a member can book, along with any associated costs, discounts, or billing cycles. This framework helps manage different levels of access—whether it's bookings, guest privileges, or special pricing—based on the membership type each player holds. In CourtReserve, everyone must have a membership, even if free.
Mobile App:
The CourtReserve app available on iOS and Android, giving members easy access to book, register, access their personal information, and view schedules from their mobile device.
Point of Sale:
The Point of Sale (POS) additional feature allows system users to process sales, manage inventory, and generate detailed sales reports across areas within the organization.
Pro Shop:
The Pro Shop at a facility serves as the front desk hub for booking services, managing rentals (like racquets and ball machines), and selling gear and accessories.
Reservations:
Bookings made by system users and members, based on your settings. Reservations typically involve securing a court, facility, or equipment (like a ball machine) for a specific time slot—where the date, time, and court or resource are selected. For example, a player books / reserves Tennis Court #2 on a specific date at their chosen time slot.
Schedulers:
Visual calendars that display courts, events, lessons, and reservations. They’re used to create, manage, and organize bookings. Custom schedulers are fully customizable using various filters and can be made visible to players and/or system users as needed. For example, you can create a custom scheduler that shows pickleball players only the pickleball courts.
System Users:
Admins, staff, and/or instructors who have login access to the Admin Panel of CourtReserve to manage the club, members, and scheduling based on your permission settings. An Admin in CourtReserve can access, update, and override all administrative settings on the CourtReserve platform. A Sub-Admin is a system user with more limited or specific permissions. Coordinators are a type of Sub-Admin that have focused management responsibilities for events and leagues.
Widget:
A widget in CourtReserve is an embeddable tool that allows clubs to display live, interactive CourtReserve features directly on their custom website or other platforms, such as a monitor at the front desk.
