Beta Status: CourtReserve + World Padel Rating (WPR) Integration

Sync Official Padel Ratings, Manage Player Eligibility, and Restrict Events by WPR Rating

Written by Mari Bern

This feature is currently in Beta, meaning it is actively being tested and refined before a full release. It is not available to all organizations. Access is limited to clubs in CourtReserve's Early Access Groups. To request access, contact our Customer Support team via live chat or email.

INTRODUCTION

Feature Summary: The WPR Integration connects CourtReserve with World Padel Rating (WPR), the official global rating system for padel players and organized play. Once enabled, CourtReserve automatically syncs WPR Competition and WPR Social ratings to member profiles, displays ratings with confidence indicators, and allows admins to restrict padel event registration by rating range and confidence level.

Use Cases:

  • Automatically sync WPR Competition and WPR Social ratings to member profiles on a daily basis

  • Manually link a player's WPR account from the admin panel when automatic matching is not successful

  • Allow players to link their own WPR account from the member portal or mobile app

  • Filter members by WPR rating in the Members Report for reporting and eligibility review

  • Restrict padel event registration by WPR rating range and confidence level

OVERVIEW

What Is WPR?

World Padel Rating (WPR) is the official global rating system for padel players. WPR tracks two separate ratings for each player:

  • WPR Competition - A performance-based rating derived from official match play.

  • WPR Social - A rating derived from informal and social games.

Both ratings are expressed on a scale of 00.00 to 21.00 and always display with two digits before and after the decimal point (for example, 05.00, 09.75, 17.50).

Each rating also carries a confidence level indicating the reliability of the rating based on match history:

  • HC - High confidence

  • LC - Low confidence

  • NC - None or no confidence

Confidence levels display as labeled badges next to each rating value on CourtReserve member profiles. Example shown here:

How the Integration Works

When WPR Integration is enabled, CourtReserve attempts to match members in your organization to WPR player profiles using email address, first name, and last name. Successfully matched players have their WPR Competition and WPR Social ratings synced automatically. Ratings refresh on a daily basis.

When no match is found or multiple matches exist for the same identity, the player remains unlinked. In those cases, an admin can manually link the player's WPR account from the member's profile, or the player can link their own account from the member portal or mobile app.

The Audit Log on the WPR setup page records every sync event, including successful links, rating updates, and errors, so you can monitor sync activity and identify any accounts that require manual attention.

Note: Any existing custom "Padel" ratings on member profiles are not affected by enabling this integration. WPR ratings and custom ratings coexist on the member profile.

NAVIGATION

Enabling the Integration

  1. Navigate to Settings > Additional Features row >Additional Features icon.

  2. Locate the WPR Integration row.

  3. Check the checkbox to activate the integration.

  4. Click Setup to open the WPR setup page.

Once enabled, a WPR Integration icon appears under the Settings > Additional Features row as a shortcut to the setup page.

SETTINGS

WPR Setup Page

The WPR setup page is the central hub for managing the integration. It includes a description of the integration, a Sync Player Data button for manually triggering a sync, and the Audit Log for reviewing all sync activity.

Sync Behavior

  • An automatic sync runs when the integration is first enabled, attempting to match all members in your organization to WPR profiles.

  • After the initial sync, ratings refresh automatically on a daily basis.

  • To trigger an on-demand sync at any time, click Sync Player Data on the setup page.

  • While a sync is running, a status message displays below the button: "Player sync in progress. Results will display in the table below when complete."

Matching uses email address, first name, and last name. If no match is found or multiple matches exist for the same identity, the player remains unlinked and an Error entry appears in the Audit Log.

Audit Log

The Audit Log records all sync and account activity. Use the search field, date range fields, or the preset date dropdown (for example, This Week) to filter entries. Click Export to download the log in .pdf or Excel format.

The Audit Log displays the following columns:

  • Date - Date and time of the action.

  • First Name - Player's first name.

  • Last Name - Player's last name.

  • Action Type - One of three values:

    • Create - The player's WPR account was successfully linked. The Description column shows the linked WPR Competition and WPR Social rating values at the time of linking.

    • Update - A change occurred on the player's account, such as a rating refresh from the daily sync or an account unlink. The Description column provides additional detail.

    • Error - The sync attempt failed. The Description column provides the reason, such as no match found, multiple matches found, or an API error.

  • Description - Additional detail about the action. For Create entries, this includes the WPR Competition and WPR Social rating values. For Update entries, this may show a message such as "WPR account was unlinked from player profile." For Error entries, this includes the reason the sync failed.

Note: Error entries indicate players who could not be automatically linked. Navigate to the player's member profile to manually link their WPR account.

Linking WPR Accounts

Linking a Player's WPR Account (Admin Side)

When automatic sync cannot match a player, or when you need to update a link, CourtReserve system users can manually link the player's WPR account from their member profile.

  1. Open the member's profile in the admin panel.

  2. Click the Ratings tab.

  3. Scroll to the WPR Ratings section.

  4. Click Link WPR Account.

  5. Enter the player's WPR ID in the field provided. An info callout confirms: "The player's WPR Competition and Social ratings will be pulled from their World Padel Rating account and kept in sync."

  6. Click Save.

Once linked, the WPR Ratings section displays the player's WPR Competition rating, WPR Social rating, confidence level badges, and WPR ID. A Unlink WPR Account button is also available if you need to remove the link.

Linking a WPR Account (Player Side)

Players can link their own WPR account from the member portal or mobile app without admin assistance.

  1. Log in to the member portal or mobile app.

  2. Navigate to your profile (your name > Personal Information).

  3. Scroll to the Ratings section.

  4. Under WPR Ratings, click Link WPR Account.

  5. Complete the WPR login and authorization flow.

  6. Once authorized, return to your profile to view your linked ratings.

After linking, the WPR Ratings section displays three cards: Competition Rating, Social Rating, and WPR ID, each labeled with the WPR eyebrow and the corresponding confidence level badge.

Players can unlink their account at any time by clicking Unlink WPR Account in the same section. Each family member's WPR account is linked independently.

Event Registration Restrictions

WPR ratings can be used to restrict registration for padel events. Restrictions are configured per event on the Registration Restrictions tab.

Setting up WPR Restrictions on Events

  1. Open or create an event in the admin panel (create or edit).

  2. Click the Registration Restrictions tab.

  3. Under Rating Restrictions, click the Allowed Rating Categories field and select WPR.

  4. A WPR Restrictions section appears with two independent checkboxes:

    • WPR Competition Rating and

    • WPR Social Rating.

  5. Check one or both rating types to configure restrictions.

  6. For each checked rating type, set the following:

    • Min - Minimum rating value required to register.

    • Max - Maximum rating value allowed to register.

    • Allowed Confidence Levels - Multi-select field. Options are None, Low, and High. Leave empty to allow all confidence levels (displays as ALL). Select one or more specific levels to restrict registration to players with those confidence levels only.

  7. Click Save when finished.

Note: The Hide Event if Member does not match Restrictions checkbox at the top of the Registration Restrictions tab controls whether this event is visible to ineligible members. Check this box to hide the event from members who do not meet the WPR restrictions.

How Restriction Logic Works

  • If both WPR Competition Rating and WPR Social Rating restrictions are configured, OR logic applies. A player can register if they meet the min/max and confidence level criteria for at least one of the two rating types.

  • Players whose WPR account is not linked cannot register into a WPR-restricted event. They will receive a prompt to link their account before registering.

  • If a player does not meet the configured restrictions, they will see an ineligibility message when attempting to register.

Player View of WPR Event Restrictions

When an event has WPR restrictions configured, a WPR Restriction info box appears on the event detail page in the member portal and mobile app. The box displays the configured rating range and confidence levels for each enabled rating type.

For example:

  • Competition: Min 5.00 Max 15.00

  • Confidence Level: Low, High

If a player does not meet the configured restrictions, they will see an ineligibility message when attempting to register.

Other Integration Features

Members Report

WPR Ratings are availalbe as filter criteria and output columns in the Members Report.

Filtering by WPR rating

In the Members Report criteria form, select WPR Competition or WPR Social as a filter. The available operators are Greater Than, Less Than, Range of, Not Rated (NR), and All Ratings (NR+).

In the Setup Report Output section, check WPR - Competition and/or WPR - Social to include those columns in your report results. Confidence level badges do not appear in the report; confidence levels are visible on the member profile only.

API Access

WPR rating data is available through the CourtReserve API for organizations that retrieve member data programmatically. To include WPR ratings in the response from the GET /api/v1/member/get endpoint, set the include_ratings parameter to true.

When a player's WPR account is linked, the response includes:

  • WPR Social rating value

  • WPR ID linked to the player's account

  • Confidence level for each rating type
