Beta Status: Instructor Bio Tab

Add a Network Public Profile for Instructors

Written by Mari Bern

This feature is currently in Beta, meaning it's actively being tested and refined before a full release. Access is based on geographic location rather than individual club enrollment, and all clubs and players in Florida currently have access, with nothing for a club to enable. Florida was chosen first because it has one of the highest concentrations of CourtReserve clubs in the country, spanning tennis, pickleball, and padel, making it a strong testing ground. Unlike other Beta features, new clubs can't be added to this rollout individually; CourtReserve plans to expand access by region as it gathers feedback from players and clubs.

INTRODUCTION

Feature Summary: The Bio tab on the instructor's user profile lets you build out a public-facing profile for each instructor, including a photo, headline, sport tags, bio text, and certifications. This is released to clubs utilizing the CourtReserve Network™, where it populates the instructor's bio on the club's listing via Explore.

Use Cases:

  • Build a public profile for an instructor before making them visible externally

  • Add or update an instructor's photo, headline, and bio text

  • Tag the sports an instructor coaches

  • List an instructor's certifications and credentials

OVERVIEW

The Bio tab is one of three tabs on a system user's Instructor profile (Information, Notifications, Bio) and only applies to users with an Instructor role. It controls the public Network profile content associated with that instructor, separate from their login and permission settings on the Information tab.

NAVIGATION

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Under Instructor Settings, click Instructors.

  3. In the System Users table, select the Instructors tab.

  4. Find the instructor and click Edit.

  5. Select the Bio tab.

Instructor Bio Settings

The Bio tab includes the following fields, in the order they appear on the screen. Changes are not saved until you click Save.

  • Show on CourtReserve Network - Toggle that controls whether this instructor displays on the CourtReserve Network as a bookable instructor at your location. The default setting is not checked. A Live badge displays next to the toggle when enabled. See CourtReserve Network Display below for how this instructor's profile appears once live.

  • Instructor photo - Upload a photo using Reposition & Crop to adjust an existing image, or Remove to delete it. Accepted formats are JPG and PNG, with a 10 MB maximum file size.

  • Display name - The name shown on the instructor's public profile. This can differ from the instructor's legal first and last name on the Information tab.

  • Headline - A short title or role descriptor shown below the display name.

    • For example: Director of Racquet Sports

  • Sport - The sport or sports this instructor coaches, shown on the CourtReserve Network.

    • Use Add a sport... to select from the dropdown.

    • Click the x next to a sport tag to remove it.

  • Bio - A free-text field for the instructor's biography. Limited to 1,000 characters, with a live character counter displayed below the field.

  • Certifications - Credentials and certifications to highlight on the instructor's profile.

    • Type a certification into the Add a certification... field and click Add to create a new tag.

    • Click the x next to a certification tag to remove it.

Click Save to apply changes.

CourtReserve Network Display

When Show on CourtReserve Network is enabled, the instructor's Bio tab content populates their public listing on the CourtReserve Network.

The following Bio tab fields map directly to the listing:

  • Instructor photo - Displays at the top of the listing.

  • Display name - Displays as the instructor's name.

  • Headline - Displays below the instructor's name.

  • Sport - Displays as sport tags below the headline.

  • Bio - Displays in the Bio section, truncated with a Show more link if it exceeds the visible length.

  • Certifications - Displays as a list of tags in the Certifications section.
