Create Event Categories, Sessions, and Tags

INTRODUCTION

  • Feature Summary: Create and configure pickleball categories, sessions, and tags settings.

  • Use Cases: Programming an event requires prerequisites. This article shows admins how to set up the foundation of an event.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

When creating events, the system user needs to configure Event Categories. Optionally, Event Sessions and Event Tags.

Creating categories

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Click SETTINGS on the side menu.

  3. Scroll down to the EVENT SETTINGS heading.

  4. Click Event Categories.

  5. Click the Create Event Category button.

  6. Enter a category name.

  7. Select a color for the text and background. (optional)

  8. Confirm the Is Active and Is Public options. The default setting is enabled. Uncheck the box to disable either option.

  9. Click Save.

Creating sessions

A session is an instance of an event. For example, a club might have a weekly event called Pickleball Saturday, and April 13 (a Saturday) is one session.

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Click SETTINGS on the side menu.

  3. Scroll down to the EVENT SETTINGS heading.

  4. Click Event Sessions.

  5. Click the Create Event Session button.

  6. Enter a session name.

  7. Confirm the Show on Member Portal and Is Active options. The default setting is enabled. Uncheck the box to disable either option.

  8. Click Save changes.

Creating tags

Tags are keywords that system users attach to an event or session. Use tags to filter a long list of events and sessions.

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Click SETTINGS on the side menu.

  3. Scroll down to the EVENT SETTINGS heading.

  4. Click Tags.

  5. Click the Create Tag button.

  6. Enter a tag name.

  7. Select a background color and text color. (optional)

  8. Confirm the Is Active and Is Public options. The default setting is enabled. Uncheck the box to disable either option.

  9. Click Save.
