INTRODUCTION

  • Feature Summary: System users set pickleball event pricing and rules.

  • Use Cases: Establish unique fees and booking windows for different membership categories (e.g. one price for a paid member and one for a guest), require admin approval for any or all event registrations, and control the registration period.

Module 2 is an eleven-part quick-start guide highlighting the key steps admins should complete when creating events and leagues for pickleball players. This article is Part 3.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Click EVENTS > LIST on the side menu.

  3. Click an event name.

  4. Scroll down the page and click the Event Setup tab.

  5. Fill in the fields (see below)

  6. Click Save Changes.

Event Setup tab

  • Drop-In/Full Price - Set the event price for each type of registrant (e.g. members, guests, family membership, and public).

  • Is Public - Check this box to display the event on the portal of the selected membership type.

  • Allow Online Registrations - Check this box to let members register for the event when logged into their CourtReserve account.

  • Hide Pricing - Check this box to hide the word Free if an event is free.

  • Require Up-Front Payment - If enabled, members must pay the fee before they can complete event registration.

  • Require Payment Profile - If enabled, members must create and save a payment profile on their account to register for this event.

  • Requires Approval - If enabled, a system user must manually approve each registration. Click To Do on the side menu to see a list of registrations that need approval.

Managing registrations

  • Drop-In/Full Registrations Starts - Decide when members/players can begin registering for this event. The options are Based on Event Start (use the drop-down menus to set the amount of time before the event starts) or by a Specific Date/Time (use the calendar).

  • Registration Ends - Decide when members are no longer able to register for this event.

  • Show Registrants - If enabled, the member portal displays a Registrants tab. This tab allows members to see the names of the other event registrants.

Registration Restrictions tab

Optionally, system users can restrict access to an event based on gender, age, or player rating. Click the Registration Restrictions tab and enter the values. To restrict by a custom player rating, click the field and select one or more allowed ratings. Leave the field blank to allow all ratings.

Embed code tab

Click this tab to promote your event with a code. The Embed Code page has two elements: a URL and a block of HTML code.

  • URL - Copy the URL and add the link to the club's website or paste the address into an email message. When clicked, the link opens the event's signup page. The page is open to the public. If someone wants to join the event, they must sign in or sign up and create an account.

  • Embed Code - This code is for web developers who want to place a visual element in an external website outside CourtReserve. Do not embed code on the courtreserve.com domain.

Creating packages

System users can create member packages. Packages offer discounts to members and cash flow benefits to the club. When a member books a court or registers for a pickleball event, they can punch their package instead of paying with a credit card or e-check. Click to learn how to create packages.
