Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can you alphabetize the list of items shown in the POS?

Yes—you can customize the order of items displayed in the POS, including alphabetizing them.

To adjust the item order:

  1. Navigate to Point of Sale > Item Categories.

  2. Select the + icon next to the category (for example, Clothing) to expand it.

  3. Click the down/up arrow icon to open the sort page.

  4. Manually reorder the items within the category by dragging and dropping them into your preferred order, such as alphabetical.

2. How do you tax POS items?

  1. To apply taxes to Point of Sale (POS) items, navigate to the Items > Taxes tab within the POS menu.

  2. From there, you can create and manage tax rates that apply to POS transactions. Choose whether to add tax to the item price as a separate line item or include tax in the item price.

    1. Add Tax to Item Price – Tax is calculated and added at checkout

    2. Include Tax in Item Price – Item price already includes tax

For example, with a 6% sales tax, a $10 item can either ring up as $10.60 with tax added at checkout or $10.00 if the tax is already included in the item price.

  3. To view sales tax reporting, go to Reports > Sales Tax.

Note:

  • Tax rates configured in Point of Sale apply only to POS transactions.

  • Tax settings found in Billing Settings apply to all other areas of CourtReserve.

3. How do I see an overview of the items sold in the Point of Sale?

To see an overview of items sold through the Point of Sale, navigate to Reports > Item Sales.

The Item Sales Report provides an overview of items sold within a selected date range, including item name, category, manufacturer, quantity sold, net sales, taxes collected, gross sales, and profit. This report helps clubs track product performance, evaluate sales trends, and analyze revenue by item or category.

For inventory-specific insights, you can also review the Inventory Valuation Report, which provides details on stock levels and item values. Navigate to Reports > Inventory Valuation.

The Inventory Valuation Report provides insight into current inventory levels and value, showing items on hand, average cost, total asset value, retail value, and each item’s percentage of overall inventory value. This report helps clubs monitor stock levels, understand inventory investment, and evaluate the potential retail value of on-hand items.
