INTRODUCTION
Feature Summary: Create new pages for the member portal.
Use Cases: System users can quickly build special-purpose member portal pages to promote events and share information with club members or non-members. Each page has a unique URL so system users can link home page buttons to the page or share the address via email messages.
PREREQUISITES
Make sure the member portal is live.
Understanding how pages are built
Each member portal page is made from drag-and-drop rows—no coding skills are required. Each row holds the organization's content (e.g. text, links, images, etc.). System users can move the rows up and down to change the page layout.
The screenshot below shows a page with two rows.
Row 1 has text information about a fall camp.
Row 2 has a table with two cells. Each cell has an image.
With a couple of mouse clicks, system users can change row positions.
SETUP REQUIREMENTS
Before building a new page, system users need to 1) collect the information that will be published on the page (e.g. dates, times, etc.) and 2) assemble digital assets (e.g. images or video links). These assets can be stored in the file repository if the organization enabled that add-on feature.
When the preliminary work is complete, building a new page is a five-step process:
Creating a blank page
Log in to the admin dashboard.
Click SETTINGS > PORTAL SETTINGS on the side menu.
Click the Website icon. A new page displays.
On the new page, click the Page Builder tab and then click the Create Page button.
In the popup window, enter a unique page name and then click Save.
CourtReserve closes the window and opens the page in Edit mode. This is where system users create rows with content.
To open and edit a page at a later date, follow this path: SETTINGS > PORTAL SETTINGS > Website icon. Select a page and click the Edit icon.
Creating a row
Create a row of content. On the Edit page, click the Create Row button.
On the Create Row page, add content and styling.
Enter a unique name for the row.
Click the Type field and select Content. (The other option creates a Hero image.)
Click the Display Type field and select an option. (see below)
Change the background color of the page. (optional see below).
Enter page content.
Use the toolbar to style the content or add images. (optional, see below)
Click Save.
Choosing a display type
This setting controls who can see the member portal page. There are three options:
ALL - The portal page is visible to everyone, members and non-members.
Anonymous User Only - Website visitors who are not logged in to their account can see the member portal page.
Logged in Users Only - The portal page is visible after a member logs into their account.
Setting a background color
The default page background color is white. To change the default setting:
Click the Use Different Color option.
Click the background field.
Use the picker to select a color.
Click Apply.
Adding images
System users can add an image to a row with text content. To display multiple images, it's best practice to create a new row and place images inside a table.
For best display results, choose images that are the same size and orientation.
Create a new row and insert a table with a suggested size of 2 x 2.
Click a table cell and then click the Insert Image icon. Upload an image or select an image in the file repository. Repeat for all cells and then click Save changes.
Adding rows to a page
Next, add rows of content to the blank page.
Go to the AVAILABLE ROWS column.
Locate a row for the page.
Click the Add button. CourtReserve moves the row to the page.
Repeat for other rows.
Previewing and revising
Click the Preview button to see what the content looks like.
Click Edit to update the content in a row.
Click Delete to remove the row from the page, but not from the platform.
To see what the published page looks like, go to the Edit page and click the Copy URL button.
Paste the URL into a new browser tab. The published member portal page displays.
Promoting the page
System users have several options:
Add a link to the top-level navigation.
Publish an announcement.
Send an email to members with a page link.
Create a Hero row with a button that links to the page.
