INTRODUCTION

  • Feature Summary: System users create matches for registered session players.

  • Use Cases: Quickly assign players to different groups with a couple of clicks. Enter scores and let CourtReserve calculate results on the Standings page. CourtReserve generates match play based on the rules configured by the system user on the Session page.

SETUP PREREQUISITES

System users must first create a session with registered players.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

System users create matches for each game day. Creating matches is a four steps process:

  1. Confirm the players are opted-in.

  2. Create groups.

  3. Create matches based on the groups.

  4. Update scores on the Standings page.

The first step is to open a session page.

  1. Click LEAGUES > SESSIONS on the side menu.

  2. On the next page, locate the session to update and click the VIEW button.

  3. Click the Schedule(s) / Game Days tab.

  4. Click the VIEW button.

Confirming opt-ins

With the Players tab selected, go to the Status column and confirm all registrants are opted-in. If a player has an OUT status, system users can contact the player and ask them to go to the member portal and opt-in. Optionally, system users can click the arrow and opt-in the user on the dashboard.

Once final, click the Lock Opt-Ins button and then click Yes in the confirmation popup window.

Note To change the status of a player to OUT, click the red arrow.

Creating groups

Once locked, CourtReserve displays a new button. Click the Create Groups button.

Optionally, click the Groups tab and then click the Create Group button there.

CourtReserve displays the players, court, and session rules -- all based on how the system user created the session. When play is ready to begin, click Start Game Day.

Scoring matches

CourtReserve automatically opens the Matches tab and displays match play and teams.

To enter a match score:

  1. Click the EDIT SCORES button and select Edit Score.

  2. Type the scores into the blank cells.

  3. Select INCOMPLETE if a game did not finish.

  4. Click Clear Score to remove any numbers from the cells.

Note CourtReserve places a ribbon beside the winning team of each match.

Note Players can enter match scores on the member portal if the system user enabled this feature on the Session page.

When all matches finish, go to the top of the page and click the Finish Game Day button, and then Yes in the confirmation popup window. Optionally, click Print to make a hard copy of the match scores.

Standings

CourtReserve automatically opens the Standings tab. The table on this page shows match play results for each player, including Points Won % and Win %.

Editing match scores

System users can change match scores after clicking the Finish Game Day button.

  1. Click the Matches tab.

  2. Click the Revert Game Day Completion button and Yes in the formation popup window.

  3. Edit the scores as required.

  4. Click the Finish Game Day button and then Yes in the confirmation popup window.

CourtReserve opens the Standings page with updated scores and results.

FEATURE USAGE - USERS' PERSPECTIVE

Players can follow match results on the member portal. Some features are optional and depend on the system user's configurations on the Session page.

Generally, players can see three pages of content, as shown in the below gif (refresh the page to see the gif move).

  • session info (e.g. name and date of session)

  • matches and scores on the SCHEDULE(S) & GAME DAYS page.

  • final standings
