INTRODUCTION

  • Feature Summary: Grant sub-admin users access to the POS and, optionally, the ability to discount prices.

  • Use Cases: By default, all system users with the Admin role can launch the POS and discount prices in the checkout. Admins can grant three levels of POS access to sub-admins. These permissions must be assigned at the individual user level.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

First, grant a sub-admin user access to the POS (i.e. store access, inventory management, or full access with no restrictions on discounting).

  1. Go to the side menu and click SETTINGS > ORGANIZATION SETTINGS.

  2. Click the System Users icon.

On the next page, click the Sub-Admins tab, locate a user, and click the Edit button.

Scroll down the page to the Initiate POS line and enable a level of POS access for this sub-admin. When the Indicate POS is checked, CourtReserve displays a hidden row: Allow Item Price/Discount Override on POS.

Enable sub-admin permissions by checking one, all, or a combination of these boxes.

  • Initiate POS - If this box is checked, the sub-admin can launch the POS using the POS icon at the top of the admin dashboard. The sub-admin can also process transactions at the checkout. The POS side menu tab is not visible. The sub-admin can discount item prices at the checkout if they have a valid admin PIN (see below). The code must be entered for each discounted item in the order.

  • Can Manage Point of Sale - If this box is checked, CourtReserve displays the POS side menu tab on the sub-admin's dashboard. The sub-admin can add, delete, or update item information.

  • Allow Item Price/Discount Override on POS - If this box is checked, the sub-admin can discount the item price at the checkout without an admin PIN. If the box is not checked, an admin must input their PIN code for this sub-admin to add a discount to a sale.

Creating an admin PIN

Only admins can create a POS discount PIN. To create a PIN, the admin should:

  1. Log in to their account.

  2. Click the account name in the top right corner of the page.

Scroll to the bottom of the page. Enter a number in the POS Discount Pin Override field and click Save.

FEATURE USAGE - SUB-ADMINS' PERSPECTIVE

If a sub-admin needs to enter a discount PIN, CourtReserve displays this popup. The admin enters the discount PIN and clicks Submit.

If successful, CourtReserve displays the Add Discount window, and the sub-admin completes the transaction as normal.
