INTRODUCTION

  • Feature Summary: Create variants of a pickleball product and manage stock inventory.

  • Use Cases: Generate detailed sales reports and identify best sellers by tracking product variations like size and color. Manage stock inventory quantities to ensure accurate counts.

PREREQUISITES

System users must know how to set up and update POS items.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

A variant is a unique product similar to the original (e.g. large, medium, and small size). It has a different name and optionally different cost, price, and SKU. Variations of the POS use the same image (if uploaded) as the original.

Go to the side menu and click POINT OF SALE > ITEM LIST. On the Items page, locate a product and click the Add Variation button. A popup displays.

In the popup, fill in the blank fields. Some fields (e.g. manufacturer and prices) are pre-filed. When adding variations, the Name field describes the attribute (e.g. Small, Medium, or Large) rather than the full product name. Click Save Changes.

After saving the variant, refresh the page. The table shows four changes.

  1. The original product is now a folder. Click the button next to the product name to open and close the folder. Expand the folder to see the variants.

  2. CourtReserve auto-adds the first variant (based on the original product information) and calls it Regular. Edit that name as required.

  3. Each variant is a table row.

  4. CourtReserve auto-adjusts the total Stock On-Hand number by adding the numbers for each variant.

Click Edit to update a product or Delete to permanently remove an item from the list.

Updating product quantities

Click the Adjust Stock button to update variant inventory. In the Stock Adjustment popup, click the Action Type field and select a reason for the inventory change. Enter the quantity related to the change and click Save Changes. Depending on the Action Type, CourtReserve reduces the total stock number by that quantity (e.g. damage) or increases the total inventory by that quantity (e.g. stock received). If the system user selects Inventory Re-count, CourtReserve replaces the old stock count with the new number.

Click the Stock History button to see a log of inventory changes for the product. Optionally, use the calendar icons to set a specific period.

Updating store-wide counts

System users can update inventory numbers on each individual product page. In some cases (e.g. quarterly inventory counts), store-wide updates can be more efficiently managed on the Stock Adjustment page.

Go to the side menu and click POINT OF SALE > STOCK ADJUSTMENT. Locate a product or variant and click the Adjust Stock button. Fill in the fields (see above) and click Save Changes.

System users can also use the Stock Adjustments Report to track all stock adjusts done within the Point of Sale menu of their organization.
