INTRODUCTION

  • Feature Summary: Configure message and opt-in settings for players and system users.

  • Use Cases: Email notifications triggered by a player's action (e.g. confirmation of a booking) are pre-built and cannot be edited. However, system users can add custom text to some types of notifications and share organization-specific information (e.g. cancellation policies).

Module 4 is an six-part quick-start guide highlighting the key steps admins should complete when sending emails, text messages, and push notifications. This article is Part 1.


SETUP REQUIREMENTS

Player Notifications

Review and configure notification settings for organization members.

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Go to the side menu and click SETTINGS > NOTIFICATIONS > Player. A new page displays.

  3. Make sure the Player Notifications tab is selected.

  4. Adjust settings as required. (see below)

Click a different tab to configure notification settings for system users. See below.

There is no Save button on this page. The platform auto-saves changes.

Checkbox columns

The page has a long list of pre-built notification messages for Email (plus Text and Push if these add-on features are activated on your account). Use the checkboxes to enable or disable these messages.

There are two columns of checkboxes: Active and Subscribed.

  • Active - Use this check box to turn on (or turn off) the notification at the system level. If a box is checked, the system sends that notification to every opted-in member in the organization.

  • Subscribed - Use this checkbox to configure individual opt-in settings.

  • If the Subscribed box is checked, each player receives the Active notification until the player goes to their profile page and checks the opt-out box.

  • If the Subscribed box is not checked, no player receives that Active notification until the player goes to their profile page and checks the opt-in box.

  • If a system user unchecks the Active box for a message, players cannot activate or opt-in to that notification.

System user notifications

Click this tab to configure messages sent to admins, sub-admins, and instructors.

Use the Active and Subscribe checkboxes to enable or disable messages and set the default opt-in settings. (same as above)

Customizing messages

All trigger-based notifications (player and system user) are prebuilt. System users cannot edit the text in those messages. However, it is possible to attach additional text to certain types of messages.

  1. Go to the side menu and click SETTINGS > RESERVATION SETTINGS > Email Messages. A new page displays.

  2. Click the Create Email Message button. A new page displays.

Adding text

  1. Click the Email Type field and select an option on the drop-down.

  2. Click the Position field and decide where to place the custom text inside the pre-built message: choose Top or Bottom.

  3. Enter the custom text.

  4. Optionally, use the toolbar to add formatting, styling, or links.

  5. Click Save.

CourtReserve adds the custom message to the list. Click Edit to update the message or Delete to remove it.
