INTRODUCTION

  • Feature Summary: Display pickleball news on the member portal and mobile app.

  • Use Cases: System users can publish any kind of announcement that is visible only to logged-in members, a subset of members (e.g. only players with a family membership), or all portal visitors.

Module 4 is an six-part quick-start guide highlighting the key steps admins should complete when sending emails, text messages, and push notifications. This article is Part 6.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Click SETTINGS > ORGANIZATIONAL SETTINGS > Global Announcements. A new page displays.

The table on the Global Announcement page shows active messages visible on the member portal. It also shows past messages that are no longer displayed on the portal.

Creating an announcement

  1. Click the Create Global Announcement button. A new page displays.

  2. Enter a unique name for the announcement.

  3. Click the calendar icons to set the start and end of the announcement's publishing period. (optional)

  4. Use the checkboxes to display the announcement to specific membership types and or member groups. The default setting for both fields is ALL. (optional)

  5. Optionally, check the Include on Welcome Page box. If checked, the announcement displays when a member logs in. If not checked, the message only displays on the Announcements page.

Scroll down to the Content field. Write the announcement. Use the toolbar to style the text, insert images, or add links. Click Save.

CourtReserve adds the announcement to the table. Click Edit to update the announcement or Delete to remove the announcement from the system.

Configuring display settings on the member portal

Control how the Announcements link appears on the member portal.

  1. Go to SETTINGS > PORTAL SETTINGS > Website. A new page displays.

  2. Make sure the General tab is selected.

  3. Scroll down to the Announcements View Option heading.

  4. Click the field and select an option: show or hide the Announcements link in the header.

  5. Click Save.

To display announcements as a row on the Welcome page, go to the top of the Website page and click the Home Page tab.

  1. Locate the Announcements row and click Add. CourtReserve copies the row to the HOME PAGE field.

  2. Optionally, click and drag the row to a new location to change the display order on the home page.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Select the number of announcements to display on the home page.

  5. Click Save.

FEATURE USAGE - USERS' PERSPECTIVE

If the system user enables the Welcome Page feature (see above), CourtReserve shows the new message as soon as a member logs in to their portal account. A red dot tells the user a new announcement is ready to view.

If the system user does not enable the Welcome Page feature, the announcement is visible when a member clicks the Announcements link.
